Oxford Biochar Ltd.
Founded by Drs. Girardin and Layberry in 2010, the company consists of a team of scientists passionate about the potential of biochar as a solution to several key environmental challenges our planet faces this century. We supply biochar to allotments, gardeners and research centers. We work with farms to account for and minimise carbon emissions from farming and to curb remaining emissions by the use of on-site Biochar production from agricultural residues. Adding biochar to the soil restores soil fertility to lessen the need for fertilisers, significantly increases productivity, and can ultimately lead to carbon neutral farms. We supply biochar to farms, allotment owners and gardeners. We provide bespoke biochar, pyrolised from specific feedstocks at various temperatures. Please contact us with your requirements.
Dr. Cécile Girardin. Director.
Cécile is a Tropical Ecologist who focuses on carbon cycling in tropical forest ecosystems. Her work includes a strong focus on below ground carbon dynamics and provides important insights on the highly fertile Amazonian soils. Following her PhD at the Oxford University Environmental Change Institute, Cécile worked at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. She is now focusing her attention on promoting biochar as a climate smart agricultural practice. Contact: cecile (at) oxfordbiochar (dot) com
